This is a closer look at the tanzanite earring, showing the knot and the stone fairly well. Here's a closer look at the face of the stone, and an edge-on view of the turk's head knot surrounding it. A side view of the stone and the knot shows where the fabricated finding is supporting the stone, inside. Note that only one thing holds the piece together -- the stone rests loose in the mount, but neither can escape from the confines of the knot.
