Price guide updated as of late 2009 -- please note that materials costs are an increasingly significant factor.

The chart below is complex, and I apologize to those for whom it is merely a confusing distraction. To put it simply, a very small, simple ring may cost as little as $500, and a very large, complex one may cost as much as $3,000. However most rings fall between those extremes in size and complexity, and I suggest that you plan to spend somewhere around $900 on a single woman's ring, or about $1,100 on a man's ring. If you tell me the size, I will calculate the correct pattern and respond with a price quote, which I will honor for that size and pattern ring.

Ring prices are dependent upon number of leads and bights, also number of strands. Being an engineering student, I have struggled with various convoluted and esoteric calculations for these prices, but I've decided that complexity is overrated. My current inclination is to simply charge for the number of actual crossings in the ring, i.e., the number of times one wire has to pass beneath another while I'm tying the knot. For instance, a five-lead nine-bight ring has 36 of these intersections, as you can easily see in the example: each side has nine loops, and each loop lines up with two crossings. The price of a ring is based on a multiplier and the number of crossings and the cost of materials. Extra strands add a bit and extremely large or small rings might cost a little extra, but that's a starting point. Matched sets (wedding, commitment) of rings are discounted, please email me for details.

Note that I charge the same for twisted wire as for solid, thus the price list doesn't even mention it. Unusual rings will be priced separately, write or call for details.

Due to the high cost of materials, prices will be a combination of the price below and the market price of the metal used.
Knot Size Single Double Triple
5 x 6 1-4 $384 $432 $480
5 x 7 2-7 $448 $504 $560
5 x 8 4-11 $512 $576 $640
5 x 9 6+ $576 $648 $720
5 x 11 10+ $704 $792 $880
5 x 12 10+ $768 $864 $960
5 x 13 12+ $832 $936 $1,040
7 x 6 1-4 $576 $648 $720
7 x 8 4-11 $768 $864 $960
7 x 9 6+ $864 $972 $1,080
7 x 10 8+ $960 $1,080 $1,200
7 x 11 10+ $1,056 $1,188 $1,320
7 x 12 12+ $1,152 $1,296 $1,440
7 x 13 12+ $1,248 $1,404 $1,560
Note that the examples linked above are strictly to indicate the appearance of the knot itself, and use of different materials will not substantially alter the structure, just the colors.
Experience has shown me that there are some combinations which are not likely to succeed, even though it may be possible to actually tie the knot. For this reason I have added a "Size" column to the table, showing either the minimum and maximum sizes, or the minimum size, for the particular knot desired. Note: prices shown refer to 18K gold. Silver and platinum available, prices on request, or see a discussion of my pricing methods.

It is possible to tie multi-line knots as well as single-line knots, but I have not listed the possibilities in the table. Here's an example of a two-line ring, and a three-line ring, made with a different color gold for each part. Prices on request.
Earrings and chains - please call or email me for prices.
